TSC Urges Teachers to Apply for 2,014 Replacement Vacancies by Midnight Today.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced a nationwide call for teachers to apply for 2,014 replacement vacancies, with the application window closing at midnight on 19th May 2025. The positions are open for primary, junior, and secondary schools to fill gaps left by teachers who exited the service through natural attrition.
According to the advertisement, the 2,014 teaching slots include 1,309 for primary schools, 32 for junior schools, and 673 for secondary institutions. All successful candidates will be employed under Permanent and Pensionable (PNP) terms.
The commission specified minimum qualifications for applicants: a P1 certificate for those seeking primary school positions, and a diploma in education for applicants targeting junior or secondary school placements. Additionally, candidates must be Kenyan citizens and registered teachers with the TSC.
How to Apply
Interested and eligible applicants were advised to submit their applications exclusively online via the Teachers Service Commission’s official portals:
- www.tsc.go.ke under the Careers section, or
- teachersonline.tsc.go.ke
Applications must be completed before the deadline at midnight today. TSC emphasized that manual applications will not be accepted.
An official from TSC, while speaking about the urgency, stated that teachers should act quickly and ensure they meet all the outlined requirements to avoid last-minute technical issues.
Recruitment Guidelines and Prioritization
The recruitment process will adhere to the TSC Recruitment Guidelines for the 2024/2025 Financial Year. Shortlisted applicants will be required to present original academic and professional certificates during interviews.
To prevent multiple entries, the Commission warned that any applicant who submits more than one Employment Form will be automatically disqualified. Preference will be given to those not previously employed by TSC.
One senior officer noted, “Our aim is to give new teachers an opportunity to serve. Those who have not worked with us before will be given a priority.”
Equal Opportunity and Fraud Prevention
The Teachers Service Commission reaffirmed its commitment to equal employment opportunities, encouraging persons with disabilities (PWDs) to apply. The commission also issued a stern caution against fraudulent practices, urging applicants not to pay any money to individuals posing as TSC recruiters.
“Applicants must remain vigilant,” another TSC representative remarked, “No fee is charged during recruitment, and anyone asking for money is a fraudster.”
