TSC To Reward Teachers Who Excel In KCPE, KCSE Exams – Nancy Macharia.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Nancy Macharia has announced that teachers who excel in national examinations administration will be rewarded.
She stated that the commission will recognize and award thirty teachers who excelled in various areas.
Teachers involved in exam invigilation, supervision, and marking will be among those rewarded, according to Dr Macharia.
TSC CEO Nancy Macharia expressed gratitude to the teachers for their selfless efforts in preparing the students for the exams.
“All teachers who were involved in exams conducted themselves professionally,” she said
“This is testimony that our teachers are pursuing credibility. We are here to celebrate the 1.2m who will be joining Form One,” she said.
She was speaking at Mitihani House on Monday, during the release of the KCPE examinations.
TSC to act firmly on teachers involved in exam irregularities
She praised teachers for their efforts in preparing 2021 KCPE candidates during a severely shortened academic year.
Last year, 30 teachers who stood out during the 2020 examinations were recognized for their roles in the administration of the KCPE and KCSE exams.
Teachers whose schools received high marks in the 2020 national examinations were recognized on World Teacher’s Day.
Dr. Macharia, on the other hand, stated that the TSC will deal harshly with teachers who are involved in examination irregularities.

Meanwhile, Dr. Macharia stated that over the last three years, 229,292 teachers have been trained for all levels of the new curriculum, including Grade Six, which will be implemented next month.
“The commission will conduct a routine exercise to ensure we have balanced teachers ahead of the start of the new academic year,” she said.
