TSC To Prioritize Teachers Aged 50 or Older and 2010 Graduates in Recruitment
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has begun hiring intern teachers to fill vacancies at Junior Secondary Schools.
In Mwala sub-county, TSC seeks to hire 140 teacher interns.
According to Abuga, the Makutano AIC Boarding Primary School exercise that began on Thursday received close to 269 candidates.
During the recruitment process, the Sub-county Director of TSC, Bernard Abuga told KNA that a number of applicants were competitive and that the Commission will develop a merit list to recruit interns.
“The merit list will be generated depending on the year of graduation, age and academic performance, “he said.
Abuga noted, however, that applicants aged 50 or older and those who graduated before 2010 will be prioritized.
The director of the TSC stated that the recruiting process was free and fair, devoid of solicitation and corruption.
“The exercise is open. The applicants will see their scores and know whether they have qualified or not,” he added.
Fredrick Munyao, one of the candidates who attended the interview, expressed confidence that he would be hired.
The third time Munyao tried his luck, he praised the procedure as being transparent.
“I trust the process is free and fair. Life has been difficult to me without a job, “he added.
