TSC To Absorb Intern Teachers on Permanent and Pensionable Terms

All interns who have been serving in the year 2022 will be hired as permanent, pensionable teachers.

According to a January 11 memo signed by TSC Director of Staffing Joseph Mugele, this is the case.

The email reads that the exercise’s interviews will begin on January 13 and recruitment materials will be due on February 6.

The Director requested that the interns’ salary status be maintained.

According to him, this would aid in the waiting period for their employees under the new terms.

In a statement released in December, the commission stated that 10,000 of the teachers would be employed on permanent pensionable terms, while the remaining 25,550 would be intern teachers.

It was stated that 9,000 of the slots are for permanent secondary school teachers and 1,000 are for primary school teachers, while 21,550 slots are for Junior secondary school intern teachers.

The Commission announced that an additional 4,000 intern teachers will be hired for primary schools.

The TSC also submitted to Political pressure and made biological age the primary factor in recruiting teachers.

In an addition to the TSC’s recruitment rules, age is evaluated for the first time as a factor for teacher listing.

The employer of teachers has also highlighted the length of stay following certification, signaling a fundamental shift in the way it wants to hire teachers.

The redesigned score sheet gives 70 and 25 points, respectively, to the length of stay and age.

The remaining five marks are dependent on the quality of one’s academic and professional documents.

Those who graduated as teachers in 2011 but are still unemployed will receive 65 points, while those who graduated in 2012 would receive five fewer points, totaling 60.

Those who qualify in 2022 will receive the lowest score in this area, 10 points, a reduction of five points from the previous years.
