GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA) SYSTEM AND RECRUITMENT CHECKLISTS


GPA GRADING SYSTEM

Academic performance is evaluated using a GPA system that assigns classifications based on the cumulative points and corresponding marks. The following table outlines the GPA classification and mark ranges:

DOCUMENTATION CHECKLISTS

The recruitment process requires specific documents to be submitted by both the applicant and the selection panel. The documents help ensure eligibility, qualification verification, and compliance with TSC recruitment procedures.

Board of Management Submission Checklist

The applicant selected for the teaching position must provide the following items to the Secretary of the Selection Panel:

  1. Original and legible copies of:
    • National ID card (both sides)
    • NCPWD card (if applicable)
    • Two coloured passport-sized photographs
    • Academic and professional certificates: KCPE, KCSE, ‘A’ Level, Diploma, Degree, etc.
    • Result certification letter from KNEC (if needed)
    • Official academic transcripts
    • TSC teacher registration certificate
    • KRA PIN certificate
    • Bank plate/card (front side)
    • Completed pay point details form
    • Primary and secondary school leaving certificates, and any additional testimonials
    • Original GP 69 Medical Examination report
    • Recruitment documents receipt acknowledgement

TSC Submission Checklist

The Secretary of the Selection Panel must forward the following documents to the TSC Sub-County Director:

  1. Selection documentation:
    • Signed panel minutes detailing shortlisted candidates from the system-generated merit list and the criteria used
    • Completed and signed selection score guide
  2. Certified copies of:
    • National ID card (both sides)
    • NCPWD card (if applicable)
    • Two passport-sized coloured photographs
    • Academic certificates: KCPE, KCSE, ‘A’ Level, Diploma, Degree, etc.
    • KNEC certification letter (if required)
    • Official academic transcripts
    • TSC teacher registration certificate
    • KRA PIN certificate
    • Bank plate/card (front side)
    • Duly completed pay point details form
    • School leaving certificates (primary and secondary), including other testimonials
    • GP 69 original Medical Examination report
    • Confirmation of document submission by applicant
