TSC Replaces 6 Kisii Teachers In Mock Sex Scandal
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has recently taken action against six teachers who were found to have engaged in unethical behavior at Itumbe DOK Primary School in Kisii County.
These teachers were interdicted and replaced with six new instructors who will be transferred to the school immediately.
According to six separate letters sent by the Nyamache Sub-County TSC Director James Wanyela on February 3, the new teachers who will be replacing the interdicted instructors are James Oigoro Ocharo, Wilfred Momanyi Ochenge, Florence Nyabuto, Isaac Osoro, Morara George Igworo, and Odong’a Obedi Nyanchong’i.
Each of these teachers has been transferred from different schools, with Ocharo being moved from Giasaiga DEB Primary School, Ochenge and Nyabuto from Bosana DEB Primary School and Mosasa DOK Primary School respectively, Osoro and Igworo from Kionduso PAG Primary School and Itibonge Primary School respectively, and Nyanchong’i from Nyamache Sub-County.
The letters also require the new teachers to hand over any school property in their possession before they proceed to their new station.
Both the head teachers and the TSC Secretary are to be informed of the date the teachers are released and received at their new station through a casualty/appointment return.
The interdicted teachers, Everlyne Moraa, Angelica Joseph, Catherine Mokaya, Moraa Nyairo, William Isuka, and Gladys Kenyanya, were found to have breached clauses 9 (1) and © (11) of the Third Schedule of the TSC Act, 2012.
Additionally, they subjected their students to psychological torture and embarrassment by sharing a video of the minors performing indecent acts.
In response, TSC has directed the interdicted teachers to vacate their offices and submit their defense responses within 21 days.
More Days in Detention
Seven teachers are currently in police custody and are expected to be charged on Monday for allegedly forcing four pupils to perform mock sex.
The teachers were caught on a viral video and were arrested on Wednesday.
Senior Principal Magistrate Paul Bewott ordered the suspects to be detained at Nyangusu Police Station for two days so that the prosecution can draft charges for the accused.
The investigating officer will also record witness statements within two days to assist the prosecution.
