TSC Replacement: Mandatory Documents To Carry During Teacher Recruitment Interviews
During the teacher recruitment process, each applicant will be assigned a unique serial number for identification purposes. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has outlined a strict requirement for both original and legible photocopies of documents to be presented by all candidates during the interview and verification stages.
Key Documents for Interview Attendance
Candidates invited to interviews must carry both original and clear photocopies of the following:
- National Identification Card
- Certificate of Registration as a Teacher
- Diploma or Degree certificate and official transcripts
- KCSE and KCPE certificates or their equivalents (including all attempts in case of resits)
- Primary and Secondary School leaving certificates along with other relevant testimonials
- NCPWD card if applicable
- KNEC Letter of Certification of results where necessary
- Affidavit under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act (Cap 15) explaining any name inconsistencies
It was stated by one TSC official that, “Applicants should come fully prepared because incomplete documents will not be accepted under any circumstances.”
Authentication of Academic and Professional Credentials
To verify qualifications, candidates are expected to produce originals and legible copies of the following credentials:
- National ID
- Teacher Registration Certificate
- Diploma or Degree Certificate with academic transcripts
- KCSE and KCPE Certificates (including all attempts)
- KNEC certification letter if applicable
- School leaving certificates and other supporting documents
- NCPWD card (if relevant)
- A legally sworn affidavit for name differences
TSC emphasized that provisional transcripts would not be accepted. According to one recruitment panel member, “We’re strict about authenticity. Every document must be original and verifiable.”
Required Documents for Serving Interns
Intern teachers are only required to present their National ID cards during the document verification exercise.

Board of Management Checklist
Successful candidates must submit to the Selection Panel Secretary:
- Originals and copies of their National ID (both sides)
- NCPWD card where applicable
- Two colored passport photos
- KCPE, KCSE, A-Level, Diploma, and Degree certificates
- Official academic transcripts
- Teacher registration certificate
- KRA PIN certificate
- Bank card/plate (front view)
- Filled pay point form
- School leaving certificates and any relevant testimonials
- GP 69 Medical Examination Form

The Selection Panel Secretary must provide the Sub-County Director with:
- Signed panel minutes detailing the number of shortlisted candidates and selection method
- Completed selection score guide
- Certified copies of:
- National ID (both sides)
- NCPWD card if applicable
- Two passport-size photographs
- Certificates (KCPE, KCSE, A-Level, Diploma, Degree)
- Academic transcripts
- KNEC result certification letters
- Teacher registration certificate
- KRA PIN
- Bank card/plate (front)
- Pay point particulars form
- Medical report (Form GP 69)

Final Submission to TSC Headquarters
TSC County Directors must ensure that the following documents reach headquarters:
- Signed minutes of Sub-County Selection Panels
- County Merit Lists (Appendix IV)
- List of selected applicants from the county merit list (Appendix V)
- List of invited but absent candidates (Appendix VI)
- Disability applicants’ list (Appendix VII)
- Signed Offer of Employment Letters
- Original confirmations of results from KNEC for applicants without original certificates
- Original Medical Examination Form GP 69

Additionally, certified documents must be organized in this order:

- Name discrepancy affidavit
