TSC Deployment: JSS Documents Submission
The deployment of primary school teachers to junior secondary schools is a vital exercise in the education sector. This exercise is aimed at addressing the shortage of teachers in junior secondary schools and improving the quality of education offered in these schools.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya is responsible for the deployment of teachers in public schools, including primary and junior secondary schools.
To ensure the smooth and efficient deployment of primary school teachers to junior secondary schools, the TSC has put in place certain measures that must be followed by all stakeholders involved in the exercise.
After the conclusion of the deployment exercise, the following documents shall be submitted to the Director Staffing by County Directors/Regional Director, Nairobi:
i) Certified copy of the degree/diploma certificate;
ii) Certified copy of the academic transcripts;
iii) Certified copy of the KCSE certificate or its equivalent;
iv) Original copy of the Deployment letter generated as per the template issued;
v) A declaration by the Head of Institution that the teacher is currently serving in the school and is neither serving an interdiction nor undergoing a disciplinary process;
vi) List of the deployed teachers clearly showing teacher’s details in the order presented below should be submitted in MS Excel editable format to Director Staffing through dirstaffing@tsc.go.ke.
The submission of deployment documents is the final step in the deployment process. These documents provide evidence that the teachers have been deployed to the junior secondary schools and that all the necessary procedures have been followed.
The documents must be certified to ensure that they are authentic and accurate. The deployment letter is generated by the TSC and provides information about the teacher being deployed, the school they are being deployed to, and the duration of the deployment.
