TSC Acknowledges Errors and Misprints in Promoted Teachers List, Promotion Letters to Rectify Mistakes
In the recently released list of promoted teachers, officials from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have acknowledged the presence of errors. The TSC County and Regional Directors have reassured those who did not find their names on the list not to be overly concerned, stating that errors and misprints are typical in such exercises.
On its website, the Commission revealed a comprehensive list of 36,505 successfully promoted teachers across 724 pages. However, a significant number of teachers remain skeptical about the accuracy of the interview results released by the Commission.

TSC promotion letters will rectify the errors observed in the initial list, so teachers should await them. Successful teachers will receive SMS notifications from the TSC County and Sub-County offices, inviting them to collect their promotion letters.
Both Knut and Kuppet emphasize the importance of TSC publishing the names of promoted teachers, along with their respective counties and sub-counties, for the sake of transparency and to eliminate any doubts.
The 36,505 teachers who successfully secured promotions will be issued promotion letters and are required to submit five Chapter Six documents in adherence to the Kenyan Constitution on ‘Leadership and Integrity.’
These mandatory documents include a Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), a Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), a Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), a Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and a Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

Unsuccessful teachers will receive regret letters, serving as evidence of their attendance at the interviews. TSC conducted interviews in December and January after advertising the vacancies in September.
Approximately one hundred and fifty thousand teachers were shortlisted, with primary school teacher interviews conducted from December 4th to December 15th, 2023, and secondary school teachers and Teacher Training College (TTC) tutors interviewed from January 3rd to January 16th, 2024.
