Top KCSE 2022 Candidates; List
On Friday, January 20, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu publicly published the 2022 KCSE results, and the list of top students who aced the test began to circulate.
Njagi Ronnie Gathuku, a student from Alliance High School, was among the top candidates, after obtaining a straight A of 84 points.
Gathuku scored three goals in a row. As revealed by Alliance High School, in all seven courses.
Alliance Girls School also confirmed that Amy Jemutai, its former captain, received an A of 84 points, including straight As in all courses.
The two candidates were among 1,146 candidates who received an A on the test.
Roberto Carlos of Mbita High School, who achieved an A of 84 points, Kairu Vincent Kinyua of Mang’u High School, Shawn Mishel Ngweno of Maseno High School, Samie David Santet of Mang’u High School, and Koech Vic of Alliance High School were also among the top performers. They all scored 84 points.
Alliance High School announced that the institution received five As out of 84 points, while several pupils received As of varying scores.
The Education Cabinet Secretary observed in a report presented at the Kenya National Examinations Council headquarters on Dennis Pritt Road that 489,081 candidates scored Grade D plus or lower.
Candidates with D plus or worse make up 55.8 percent of the total 881,416 students that took the KCSE 2022 examination.
Machogu specifically stated that 167,758 candidates received D minus grades, 155,480 received D grades, and 135,021 received D plus grades.
David Njeng’ere, Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council (KNEC), has asked all schools to register candidates for the 2022 KCSE and KCPE by March 31.
Njang’re announced the registration portal would be open on February 1 during the release of the 2022 KCSE results.
