Ten Most Selected Schools by 2022 KCPE Candidates

On Monday, January 16th, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released a number of the ten schools that received the most applications in excess of their capacity.

Speaking at the of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), the CS named Kabianga High School, Nakuru High School, Nanyuki High School, and Alliance Girls School, among others, as exemplary schools.

He noted, however, that the placement test revealed that the majority of candidates were not effectively guided by their respective principals and teachers.

“During the selection process, it became clear that a large number of candidates did not receive proper guidance when choosing a school.

"These resulted in some schools getting far many applicants against their capacity. No one will be able to go beyond the capacity,” he stated.

“There are schools where we get so many applicants yet the capacity is few hence it is not possible for all candidates to be placed in their dream schools,” he added.

The Education CS said that the reporting time for KCPE candidates will be between February 6 and 13, 2023.

Candidates were instructed to access the Form One placement through text message or internet.

Candidates may send a text message with the format (Index No) to 22263. The cost of the service depends on the mobile service provider.

Click the ‘Form One Placements’ icon on the Ministry of Education website www.education.go.ke for additional placement information.
