The International Undergraduate Student Bursary is a financial assistance program offered by the University of Manitoba Scholarship Program to international students enrolled in the university’s undergraduate programs.

The award, which can cover up to fifty percent of the international student differential tuition fee for the academic year, is granted on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.

Each application is evaluated individually by a selection committee, and eligibility is open to all new and continuing international first-year students who have demonstrated financial need and academic achievement.

Scholarship Requirements:

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

To be eligible, all students must complete courses in both the autumn and winter terms.

In most cases, students must register for and complete at least 60 percent of a full course load per term (9 credit hours).

Graduate students are exempt from credit hour minimums if they are registered as full-time students with the Faculty of Graduate Studies during the autumn and winter terms.

Students must satisfy minimum G.P.A. requirements. Continuing students must have a GPA of at least 2.0.

New candidates must have a grade 12 grade point average of at least 70%. Students admitted with the Mature Student Status may also be eligible for a bursary.

The application must clearly document financial need. To support their declaration of financial need, students who have applied for government student loans in other provinces must submit a copy of the most recent official government loan assessment.

Please note that recipients of Manitoba Student Aid are not required to submit a copy of their Notice of Assessment.

International students in their first year of postsecondary education in Canada are ineligible for the general bursary program.
