Students, Schools Encounter Frustrations In Accessing 2023 KCSE Results
For the best part of Monday morning, there was agitation and irritation as schools and individuals attempted to access the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
This came just minutes after Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu issued the results, directing that they be viewed exclusively through the KNEC website or directly through the URL: https://results.knec.ac.ke.
For the 2023 KCSE examination, enter the candidate’s index number and name(s) as they appear on their registration form.

However, Citizen Digital has confirmed that the website was unresponsive at the time of publication, along with complaints from irritated institutions.
When you try to access the website, you get the message “This site can’t be reached” or “HTTP Error 400.” The requested hostname is incorrect.”
Individual candidates and schools have reportedly reported being unable to access the website. A handful had gained access to the website and were browsing over their results.

The website outage coincides with the government’s announcement that the 2023 KCSE results will no longer be accessible via SMS, which has been the traditional method of receiving the results in the past.
The examinations were taken by a total of 899,453 candidates, including 450,554 males and 448,899 females.
A total of 1,216 candidates received an A, 201,133 received a C+ or higher, 526,222 received a D+ or higher, and 48,174 received an E.
