Stranded Form 1 Girls Get School Fees Contribution From Police OfficersTwo form one students have reason to smile after police officers contributed money to their secondary school admissions.According to a statement released by the National Police Service (NPS) on Thursday, May 12, the officers’ hearts were pricked after learning that the girls’ parents were unable to raise admission fees.In the first case, Victoria Ndung’e Musau, a Makueni County girl who had been accepted into Muthale Girls High School in Mbooni Constituency, was unable to report.The senior officers then rallied their colleagues, who contributed cash to cover admission and other expenses, such as textbooks.“When the senior officers realised that the girl’s parents could not raise the required fees, they mobilized their colleagues and raised funds that saw the girl admitted to her favourite school, Muthale Girls High School in Mbooni Constituency."They were also able to cater to additional admission requirements for the lucky girl including books and personal effects,” read the statement in part.Mr. Joseph Musyoka Nthenge, Deputy Regional Commander North Eastern, spearheaded the drive and promised to assist with the girl’s admission.In a separate case, Francis Kooli, the Kisii County Police Commander (CPC), led a group of friends to contribute money to Lilian Ikal Losike’s school fees. The girl had previously attended Korinyang Primary School.ALSO READ:Lilian received an impressive 366 points but was unable to raise school fees. She later joined St. Bridgit Girls, Kiminini, with the help of the County Commander in Kisii and other well-wishers.“To the team of Commissioners of Police and the many other police officers whose beautiful stories haven’t been told, we appreciate you for the gestures and initiatives that bring honour to the National Police Service,” appreciated the NPS.Form one admission began on Tuesday, May 4, but was marred by chaos as many Principals argued that there were fewer available dormitories than admitted students.Some schools were forced to turn newly constructed Curriculum-Based Competency classrooms into sleeping areas.Stranded Form 1 Girls Get School Fees Contribution From Police Officers
