St Joseph’s Boys Kitale Signs MOU With US Academy, Monteverde
St. Joseph’s Boys National School Kitale recently formalized a significant partnership with Monteverde Academy of Florida, a distinguished institution renowned for its global focus on character development, academic excellence, and talent nurturing.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was officially signed during the weekend at the school in Kitale. Principal Cosmas Nabungolo and Dr. David Rath, the Academy’s Dean of Admissions, were the signatories to this collaborative agreement.

The core of this partnership lies in an exchange program designed to foster collaboration in talent development, career advancement, and academic initiatives between the two educational institutions.
During Dr. Rath’s visit to the school, he received a warm welcome from the school community, spearheaded by Principal Nabungolo. Dr. Rath took the opportunity to underscore the academy’s unwavering commitment to character development, education, and sports nurturing. He shared his perspective on the significance of education as an enlightening force.
Dr. Rath asserted that the academy provides top-tier learning and advanced training across at least 70 countries globally. He disclosed that the institution boasts a robust academic program and an exceptional talent nurturing initiative, with 40 alumni in the national basketball association and 60 graduates serving in international soccer.
Encouraging students, he emphasized the significance of prioritizing education, emphasizing that academic excellence is a prerequisite for admission. Dr. Rath argued that education is the core program of the academy, underscoring its pivotal role in shaping individuals’ futures.

Montevede’s Nabungolo expressed gratitude for selecting St Joseph’s Boys as the inaugural center for collaboration. He viewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a beacon of hope for bright and gifted boys and girls in Kenya. Nabungolo stated that the exchange program would enhance academic and talent development for the learners.
Discussing the critical role of his visits to the academy in the MoU signing, the principal highlighted the positive outcomes of a trip to Florida three years ago. He took pride in the exemplary performance of students who joined local universities following the visit.
Nabungolo informed Dr. Rath about the exceptional talents and academic achievements at the school, expressing confidence that the collaboration would contribute to manufacturing talents for the global market.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Trans Nzoia County Executive Member for Lands Janerose Mutama and Chief Officer Gender Youth Sports and Culture Jane Wachwenge. Mutama affirmed the county administration’s commitment to supporting talent development initiatives, praising Nabungolo for consistently nurturing talents.

The partnership, occurring just two months after separate agreements with Ferdinand Omanyala and Michael Olunga’s MOFA, aligns with FKF President Nick Mwendwa’s selection of the school as a football center of excellence.
