The 2021 KCPE results are set to be released on Monday. More than fifty students missed exams for various reasons.
Senators have now requested that Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha submit a list of students who failed the KCPE and KCSE exams at the same time he responds to claims of exam malpractice.
“As they update us on KCSE, Magoha and his Principal Secretary should tell us the number of students registered for national exams and how many are missing,“ the senator said.
The senators are also demanding to be told on a case-by-case basis as to why the candidates miss exams adding that students in security-affected areas should be given a second chance.
"Is it because of insecurity, early pregnancies or other family matters so that we become aware?”
According to senators, most students face a variety of challenges that necessitate immediate action. They called for the multi-agency teams in charge of administering national exams to intervene and assist the students.
