Primary School Cook Sentenced to 30 Years for Defiling ECDE Pupil
A court in Eldoret sentenced a 20-year-old male to 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to defiling a five-year-old Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) student.
Eliakim Kemboi, alias Elias, a cook at a private primary school, shocked the court when he admitted to molesting a student in the classroom. The accused worked alongside the mother of the child at the school.
Elias, who is visually impaired, is accused of committing the crime on August 29, 2023, in the Moiben area of Uasin Gishu County.
He was charged with violating the law by engaging in an indecent act with a minor.

The defendant asserted that he removed the child’s pants in the classroom before his mother arrived.
The child was defiled, according to a medical examination report from the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).
Eldoret Senior Court Judge Caroline Wattimah stated in her ruling that even if the accused claimed he had not violated the child when his mother entered, the fact that he undressed her was a clear indication that she had ill intentions.
