On Saturday, February 11th, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu revealed that the late Professor George Magoha had made a request to him before he passed away. He had asked the CS to help secure a job for one of his sisters.

The CS informed the mourners at Magoha’s funeral in Siaya that President Ruto had agreed to offer the job to Magoha’s sister. However, he failed to reveal further details about the offer and the name of the sister.

Magoha’s siblings are Mary Magdalene Owuor, Pauline Anyango Dola, and Joseph Magoha.

The Education Cabinet Secretary defended the move to solicit a job for Magoha’s sister by stating that the late Education Cabinet Secretary had picked his son, Paul Machogu Junior, as his aide after he was appointed to head the Ministry of Education by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He stated that Professor Magoha had walked with Machogu Junior for three and a half years and had imparted Christian values to him. This is what brought the two families together as friends.

The Education CS affirmed that he returned the favour in honour of his friendship with Magoha. He also appreciated Maseno University, which offered the deceased a job before he passed on Tuesday, January 24th.

Magoha was laid to rest in his Yala home in Siaya County, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and other MPs were in attendance.

The late Professor George Magoha was a well-respected figure in the education sector of Kenya, and his loss is felt deeply by those who knew him.

He was known for his passion for education and his unwavering commitment to improving the education system in the country. He played a critical role in shaping the education landscape in Kenya and will be remembered for his dedication and hard work.

Although the Education Cabinet Secretary did not reveal more details about the job offer for Magoha’s sister, it is clear that he was committed to fulfilling Magoha’s request as a sign of respect for their friendship.

The fact that President Ruto agreed to the request further highlights the high regard in which Magoha was held by those in positions of power in the country.

In conclusion, the Education Cabinet Secretary’s revelation about Magoha’s request for his sister to secure a job highlights the close relationship between the two families and their commitment to each other.

It also serves as a testament to the legacy of the late Professor George Magoha and his impact on the education sector in Kenya.
