Protest Against Head Teachers Will Result in Arrests, Parents Warned
Homa Bay County Commissioner, Moses Lilan, has urged parents to stop protesting against school principals and head teachers.
There has been a trend of demonstrations and protests against head teachers in a number of primary and secondary schools in the county, with parents demanding their transfer.
The protests have been triggered by various grievances against head teachers, including allegations of poor performance and mismanagement of school resources.
However, Lilan has warned parents against holding protests in schools, stating that they will be arrested and prosecuted.
Speaking to the press in his office, Lilan called on parents to follow due process when they have grievances with school heads.
He advised them to use the appropriate channels to address their concerns, rather than taking matters into their own hands.
This call comes in the wake of an increasing number of protests by parents in Homa Bay County. Lilan’s warning is aimed at putting a stop to this trend and ensuring that school activities are not disrupted.
While parents have a right to express their concerns about the management of their children’s schools, Lilan emphasised that protests are not the solution.
He advised parents to engage school authorities in a constructive manner and work together to find solutions to any challenges.
