Prof Paul Shiundu Named Acting Vice-Chancellor of Technical University of Kenya (TUK)
Prof Paul Shiundu has been named the acting vice-chancellor of the Technical University of Kenya, taking over from Prof Francis Aduol, whose term ended on May 15, 2023.
Previously serving as the deputy vice-chancellor for academic and student affairs under Prof Aduol, Prof Shiundu has now assumed the role of acting vice-chancellor.
The appointment of Prof Shiundu was announced in a memo dated May 15 by Idle Farah, the chairman of the university council.
In the memo, Farah extended congratulations to Prof Shiundu on his new position and expressed wishes for his success in carrying out his new responsibilities.
Additionally, Farah took the opportunity to inform the university staff and students that Prof Aduol had served the institution for over 16 years, starting from the time it was known as Kenya Polytechnic and subsequently becoming Kenya Polytechnic University College before its current name change to the Technical University of Kenya.
Farah commended Prof Aduol for his noteworthy achievements and dedication in establishing the university’s reputation as an esteemed international institution.
With this recent development, the Technical University of Kenya is poised for a transition in leadership as Prof Shiundu assumes the role of acting vice-chancellor.
