President Ruto Awards Kenyans Who Completed Free Online Courses At Arizona State University

Kenyan graduates who participated in free online courses at Arizona State University last year received certificates of completion from President William Ruto.

On the second day of the ongoing Youth Connect Africa Summit 2023 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), the President presented the certificates.

This initiative follows President Ruto’s announcement during last year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations, promising scholarships to the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University’s Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation program for everyone in attendance at Nyayo Stadium.

During the Jamhuri Day celebrations, Ruto mentioned, “A 16-unit course that would have cost Ksh.100,000 is now accessible to Kenyans at the stadium for free, courtesy of Jamhuri Day celebrations.”

President Ruto expressed his delight with the progress made since the statement on Saturday, saying;

“To all the good people who took up the challenge when I made the announcement last year, it didn’t look real then, but today we have evidence that it is reality, and we have graduates here today with certificates.”

The President praised the Kenyan graduates for their bravery, originality, and creativity in embracing new places and mastering new skills.

He praised their dedication to broadening their knowledge and comprehending new methods of doing things.

“Life is a learning journey.” “We’re all constantly learning and broadening our horizons, which keeps us on the cutting edge,” Ruto remarked.

The President also extended an invitation to individuals who have not yet taken advantage of the opportunity to upgrade and prepare for a changing work market.

“For those of you who have not had the opportunity, the opportunity remains open, and the address remains the same.” “Get online, learn, and advance your careers,” he advised.

During the same conference, President Ruto saw the graduation of 1,800 SMEs from the Google Hustle Academy.
