Graduate Teachers Academic Qualifications for TSC Recruitment
For those aspiring to become Graduate Teachers, there are specific academic prerequisites they must meet.
Firstly, applicants must have a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Additionally, they must have a C+ (plus) in each of their two teaching subjects or two (2) Principles and one (1) Subsidiary pass at ‘A’ Level.
Furthermore, Graduate Teacher applicants can fulfill the requirements through various academic pathways:
(a) A Bachelor of Education Degree with two (2) teaching subjects.

(b) A Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) with two teaching subjects.
(c) Bachelor of Science with Education/Bachelor of Arts with Education with two teaching subjects.
(d) Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education and Extension with two teaching subjects.
Additionally, applicants with certain qualifications are also eligible:
i) Bachelor of Education holders with a mean grade of C Plain and C Plain in the two teaching subjects at KCSE who have undertaken a Diploma in Education.

ii) Diploma in Education Holders with a Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) and C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subjects at KCSE who have undertaken a Bachelors of Education Degree.
iii) Bridging or pre-university certificates for those who completed the course before December 31st, 2015 are considered.
Diploma Teachers Academic Qualifications for TSC Recruitment
Diploma Teachers, who aim to make a difference in the education sector, must meet specific qualifications.
They need to have a minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent, with at least C+ (plus) in the two teaching subjects or one (1) Principle and two (2) Subsidiaries at ‘A’ level.

Moreover, they must possess a Diploma in Education from a recognized Teacher Training Institution with at least a C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subjects.
Applicants with certain qualifications are also eligible:
(a) Diploma Teachers who graduated in 2008 or before with a mean grade of C (plain) and C (plain) in the two teaching subjects are eligible.
(b) Hearing and visually impaired teachers who enrolled for training with a Mean Grade of C (Plain), and C (Plain) in the two teaching subjects are eligible.

Technical Teachers Qualifications
The field of technical education in Kenya is no exception to stringent qualifications. Technical Teacher applicants need to have a minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent.
They must also have at least C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subjects or one (1) Principle and two (2) Subsidiaries at ‘A’-Level in subjects studied.
In addition, Technical Teachers must meet specific educational prerequisites:
i) Possess a Bachelor of Education Technology (BeD TECH).
ii) Hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in any relevant technical subject(s) or course.

iii) Have a Higher Diploma in a technical course. iv) Possess a Diploma in a technical course.
Applicants with qualifications in subjects that are currently not in the Secondary School Curriculum do not qualify.
However, those with economics, commerce, or accounting qualifications can apply for Business Studies, and those with Social Education and Ethics (SEE) qualifications can apply for CRE/IRE.
