Police Officer Who Defiled High School Student In Cell Arrested

Police in Nandi County have apprehended a police officer accused of sexually assaulting a high school student while in custody at Kaptumo Police Station.

The suspect, identified as Jared Okada, was reportedly found at his hideout on Monday evening by detectives who had been pursuing him.

According to reports from Nandi South police chief Peter Mbua, Okada was arrested following an extensive search. Mbua confirmed the arrest, stating that Okada was taken into custody after being located by law enforcement officers.

Following his arrest, Okada was brought before a Kapsabet court on Tuesday, where he submitted a plea in response to his personal miscellaneous application.

He will remain in police custody for an extended period as further investigations are conducted into the allegations against him.

The secondary student who was defiled was arrested on the grounds that she refused to attend school.

OCPD Peter Mbua told Citizen Digital over the phone that the suspect, Constable Jared Okada, after receiving the girl, who was accompanied to the station by her parents and other family members, locked her in the cell.

Mbua went on to say that as soon as the parents returned home, the officer forced carnal knowledge on the secondary school student.

He then handed over duties to his female colleague, who summoned the minor from the cell to explain why she refused to attend school.
