Police Officer Allegedly Defile Girl Who Was Detained For Not Going To School

A police officer stationed at Kaptumo Police Station in Nandi South Sub County stands accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a female student who was detained after allegedly refusing to attend school.

According to reports, Constable Jared Okada, upon the girl’s arrival at the station accompanied by her parents and other relatives, proceeded to lock her up in a cell.

Later, in the absence of her parents, Okada is alleged to have sexually assaulted the secondary school student. Subsequently, he handed over his duties to a female colleague who brought the minor out of the cell to inquire about her reluctance to attend school.

It was during this interaction that the victim disclosed the sexual harassment by Officer Okada. The Officer in Charge of the Police Division (OCPD), Peter Mbua, confirmed the incident, asserting that efforts are underway, in collaboration with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officers, to apprehend the accused, who was reportedly untraceable as of Tuesday morning.
