Police Assigned to KCPE Duty Arrested Sleeping in Teacher’s House
A police officer assigned to Marioshoni Police Station in Nakuru County faced arrest on Monday for failing to fulfill his duty of overseeing the KCPE exams at Kimonio Primary School. According to police records in OB 11/30/10/2023, he was discovered sleeping in the teachers’ quarters while under the influence of alcohol.
This incident unfolded when the school’s center manager, Elijah Biwott, realized the absence of the assigned police officer, leading to concerns about a security gap during the examination.

Biwott promptly alerted the police station, prompting the Molo security team, accompanied by OCS Marioshoni, to launch a search for their missing colleague.
Following the search, they found the officer inebriated and asleep in the teachers’ quarters.
Subsequently, they disarmed him and directed Police Constable Richard Mburu to take on his responsibilities during the English Composition exam session, as indicated in the police report.
Initial inquiries revealed that the officer had left his post and visited a nearby entertainment establishment, where he consumed alcohol. A teacher encountered him at the establishment and persuaded him to return home to rest.
