Parents Perish In School Bus Crash After Admitting KMTC Student
Moments after enrolling his son at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Kapkatet, Kericho County, a man, his wife, and their two-year-old boy perished in a road accident.
The group was reportedly returning home after celebrating the student’s acceptance.
At Keroka, along the Kiii-Sotik Highway, their automobile collided with a school bus.
According to police reports, the mother was pronounced dead at the scene, while the father and boy were brought to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital for emergency care.
Sadly, both individuals perished as a result of the accident-caused injuries. Family members who spoke with the police confirmed their passing.
“One of the passengers, the mother, died on the spot while the rest were rushed to Kisii Referral Hospital.
"We have received information from the relatives that the husband succumbed to injuries. Their son also passed on,” the police reported.
When the bus collided with the vehicle, it appeared that the father was driving while his wife was in the passenger seat.
The incident caused minor damage to the school bus while the family automobile was completely destroyed.
As soon as the accident occurred, local folks raced to the scene to assist the injured.
A truck lost control and collided with a private vehicle along the Kisumu-Kakamega road, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
Two pedestrians sustained serious injuries.
