Over 400 Students Missing KCSE 2021 Results To Know Fate In 30 Days.According to the Kenya National Examinations Council, over 400 students whose 2021 KCSE results were withheld due to examination irregularities will learn their fate in May 2022. (KNEC).Candidates from Homa Bay County’s Oriwo High School were denied access to their results on KNEC’s website and via SMS.David Njeng’ere, CEO of KNEC, stated that investigations into exam malpractice at the school will be completed within 30 days. The council will then send a preliminary report to Education Secretary General George Magoha.Njeng’ere informed the school’s principal, Maurice Akal, in a letter that the results would be withheld until the investigations were completed.“The results of all candidates at Oriwo Boys High School, centre code 41731303 have been withheld on suspicion that they may have engaged in examination irregularities during the conduct of the 2021 KCSE Examination,” the letter read in part.“This is done to allow for completion of investigations on the exercise of the powers on the handling of examination irregularities” the letter further explained.The school had over 500 registered students, but only 441 took the exam.Akal was directed to keep the affected candidates up to date on the status of the case.Magoha stated that individuals caught engaging in examination malpractice were dealt with in accordance with the law when the results were announced on Saturday, April 23.“In the 2021 KCSE Examination, 441 cases were reported, as well as one case of a center with all results withheld.”“There were 441 cases reported in the 2021 KCSE Examination and one case of a centre with all the results withheld."I wish to categorically state that KNEC will not have any mercy on examination offenders who must be dealt with decisively.
