CS Ogamba Provides Update on KCSE Exam Results Release Date.
CS Julius Ogamba has addressed the public on the successful completion of the two major national examinations, namely the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
He noted that these exams were conducted smoothly with only a few challenges.
“We undertook two serious examinations this year. The KCPE and the KCSE were successfully completed, with very few challenges,” Ogamba stated.
Speaking at the CBC Engagement forum on Wednesday, Ogamba acknowledged the diligence in managing these examinations despite a small number of reported malpractices, which have been swiftly addressed.

Addressing Malpractices and Legal Action
Ogamba confirmed that the ministry has taken strict action against those involved in examination malpractices.
“Those found to be engaged in these malpractices are currently facing court cases,” he remarked.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the national examination process.
Ongoing Marking and Early Results Release
As for the marking process, Ogamba revealed that it is currently ongoing, and the results for the 2023 exams are expected to be released in early January 2024.
“The examinations marking is ongoing, and we will be releasing the results in early January,” Ogemba confirmed.
Reforms in Basic Education and CBC Implementation
Turning to the broader education reforms, Ogamba discussed the ongoing efforts to implement the recommendations from the Presidential Working Party.
He highlighted the significant strides being made to ensure the success of these reforms, particularly in Basic Education.

“We are ensuring that the reforms recommended by the presidential working party are being implemented,” Ogamba stated.
Amendments to the Education Laws
In light of the ongoing reforms, Ogamba also touched on the proposed amendments to various education-related laws. These changes are intended to eliminate any friction between stakeholders and ensure smooth implementation of the reforms.
“We have also done a number of amendment bills to ensure smooth collaboration between all sectors,” he explained.
The bills, which will be presented to Parliament early next year, aim to make necessary legal adjustments to support these educational changes.
CS Ogamba reaffirmed that the ministry is on track with the implementation of the reforms in Basic Education.
