Nyambaria High School 2023 KCSE Results: 12 Straight A’s and Possibly With Best Student Nationwide

Nyambaria High School, amidst controversy surrounding the authenticity of their 2023 KCSE results, has announced its success in the exams, challenging Kenya National Examination Council’s (KNEC) doubts. Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released the results at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret on January 8.

Nyambaria High School has reports that it achieved impressive results in the 2023 KCSE, producing 12 candidates with straight As, as disclosed by the school’s deputy principal, Onesmus Ong’uti.

Out of the 594 registered candidates, the top 12 with As were released to the media, with Ong’uti mentioning that these are provisional results, and more candidates are expected to excel once the tallying is complete.

One notable achiever is John Mark Oluu, expected to be the top student in the country with an A grade of 84. Oluu has consistently been the best student since Form 1.

Contrary to earlier viral claims on social media indicating fake grades from the school, the official results reveal the actual performance. The fabricated information suggested 42 A plains, 425 A minus, and 56 B plus. The previous year’s mean score for Nyambaria High School in the 2022 KCSE was 10.8975.

The release of the results follows challenges during the examinations, including the suspension of the school’s principal, Charles Onyari, as the Centre Manager by the Teacher’s Service Commission based on a recommendation from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

The suspension, however, did not affect Onyari’s role as the school principal. Allegations of facilitating examination irregularities were raised against him.
