National Government Administrative officers Ordered To Ensure All Form Ones Join Secondary Schools
Prof. George Magoha, Cabinet Secretary for Education, has directed National Government Administrative officers to ensure that all learners enroll in secondary schools.
He stated that in order to achieve a 100% transition from primary to secondary schools, administrators must trail students and require them to enroll in various learning institutions.
“The Chiefs, together with their assistants, should be in the forefront in ensuring that our children are enlisted in various schools with the help of police,” said Magoha.
He argued that every student case of not reporting to school would be looked into by the government.
He stated that the government is prepared to provide full scholarships and bursaries to students from low-income families who have been unable to enroll in secondary schools across the country.
Magoha was speaking at Butere Girls High School during an inspection of Kenya Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQIP) infrastructure works.
“Parents should not stay at home with learners. They must find a way of engaging the school heads on how to go about their predicaments,” he said.
The CS stated that the Government would provide scholarships and bursaries to deserving students who are unable to enroll in various schools throughout the country.
“To obtain 100 per cent transition, the administrators must ensure all 2021 KCPE students are in class throughout the year,” he said.
