Nanyuki High School has once again emerged as the most preferred secondary school among Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates.
On Monday, April 11, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha announced secondary school placement, noting that the school received a total of 156,003 applications from interested students.
However, the institution, which is located in Laikipia County, only has 400 form one slots.
Nanyuki High School has been named the most preferred school in Kenya for the second year in a row, after attracting 154,524 students in 2021.
Nanyuki High School is located in Laikipia County. File Nanyuki High, a public secondary school, is funded by the National Government and, like any other public school, has a Board of Management as well as a ParentsTeachers Association (PTA).
In recent years, the school has risen to national prominence, with a candidate named to the 2019 Top 100 KCSE performers.
It was named the second-best school in Laikipia County in 2020. Bruce Magata Mackenzie, the top KCPE candidate for 2021, has been admitted to Alliance High School.
During the event, Magoha also mentioned that the number of students who took the exam exceeded the number of available slots, forcing some schools to admit more students.
