Multi-Agency Team Praised For Restoring Sanity In KCSE Exams
ICT Principal Secretary Jerome Ochieng has praised the multi-agency team in charge of overseeing national examinations in the country, saying their efforts have ensured the exercise’s integrity.
According to Ochieng, the move has improved examination security by ensuring that students are graded based on their performance.
The initiative, according to the PS, is critical in ensuring that the country produces a competent workforce through an active education system that allows our students to compete effectively with others around the world.
Speaking in Kisumu on Tuesday, where he led a team of government officials overseeing the administration of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE), Ochieng stated that the government will not relent in its concerted efforts to restore examination sanity.
“Every student will get the grades they deserve following some of the strict guidelines put in place by the government to safeguard the examination papers,” added the PS.
“As government we continue to emphasize on the sanity of the examinations to ensure that students sit for their national exams and get the grades they have worked for, and that which they truly deserve,” he said.
He stated that the multi-agency approach was responsible for the smooth running of the exams and the timely release of results to the delight of students, parents, and teachers.

“When I talk of a multi-agency approach, as the PS in charge of ICT, I can attest how technology has been deployed during marking of these examinations and even soon the same system shall be used to place these pupils in secondary schools,” he said.
The PS who visited Kisumu Girls High School also praised teachers and other stakeholders for their efforts in ensuring that the exercise runs smoothly.
