MPesa Foundation Scholarship; 2023 Application Form and Guidelines
The M-PESA Foundation Academy is a prestigious school located in Thika West Sub-County, Kenya.
The academy is a state-of-the-art, co-educational and residential IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Middle Years Programme (IBMYP).
The Academy’s mission is to foster leadership, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation among learners from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The academy offers full scholarships to learners from all 47 counties in Kenya who demonstrate a leadership potential and have a talent for academics. The academy admits learners on a merit-based application process.
Applicants must complete the application form for the 2023 academic year only and provide all required documentation, including their birth certificate, parent/guardian ID, academic transcripts, evidence of leadership and co-curricular activity certificates, payslip of parent/guardian if employed, and any other relevant document.
Applications must be complete and submitted in a sealed envelope or online as a single PDF document.
Incomplete applications or those with missing documentation will not be considered. Applicants must write their first and last names in capital letters on each page of the application form.
Admission to the M-PESA Foundation Academy is based on an independent application process separate from the national form 1 application and selection process. Applicants must fill out the application form using their own handwriting and words.
Any omission of the required documentation or information will lead to automatic disqualification.
The academy will verify all information provided in the application form. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The M-PESA Foundation Academy offers learners a unique opportunity to acquire an IB education and develop their leadership, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation skills.
DEADLINE
The deadline for submitting the application forms is May 15, 2023. It is important to note that any application forms received after this deadline will not be considered.
Prospective students can obtain the application forms either online from the academy’s website or physically from several locations including MPESA Foundation Academy in Thika, Safaricom retail shops countrywide, SAFARICOM Headquarters in Westlands, or through Primary School Headteachers via KEPSHA.
Once the application form has been filled out, it can be submitted through email to admissions@mpesafoundationacademy.ac.ke, by post to M-PESA Foundation Academy, P.O Box 7954-01000, Thika or by dropping it off at any Safaricom retail shop.
The selection process for admission to the academy will evaluate the applicants based on several criteria, including academic excellence, financial need, leadership and talent potential, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, desirable values, discipline and behavior, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The academy is committed to offering a transformative education to its students, and as such, it is essential that the selection process is rigorous and thorough.
The applicants will be assessed based on their potential to succeed academically, their ability to lead and excel in their chosen fields, their creativity and innovation, and their alignment with the academy’s core values.
