MP Raises Concern Over Integrity Of National Exams
Expressing concern about the integrity of the national examination system, Suna West Member of Parliament, Peter Masara, has called on the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to address the identified issues promptly.
Masara highlighted significant integrity concerns regarding the conduct of the national examination, emphasizing the need for swift action by both the exam body and the Ministry of Education to restore public confidence.

The legislator pointed out that integrity issues have arisen concerning the results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.
He urged the ministry to handle these discrepancies to ensure the public’s trust in the national examination process.

Masara noted that such integrity concerns were not prevalent during the tenures of former Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i and the late Prof. George Magoha.
He called on the current Cabinet Secretary for Education, Ezekiel Machogu, to address the issues compromising the integrity of the examinations without delay.
