Mother Plea to Magoha After Daughter Kills Self in School
A mother of a Form Three girl at Tala Girls High School in Machakos County pleaded with Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha to intervene in her daughter’s murder in an emotional message.
The girl allegedly committed suicide after being accused of stealing Ksh2,500 and a package of pencils.
The devastated mother reported on Saturday, September 3, that she could not inspect and confirm the deceased corpse before it was transported to the morgue.
According to the mother of the 16-year-old, the school administration failed to inform her of what transpired before the Form Three pupil committed suicide.
She accused the administration of Tala Girls High School of complicating her daughter’s inexplicable death and demanded that CS Magoha hold the school accountable for what transpired before her passing.
In addition, she requested that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i personally address the problem and expedite the probe.
“I request CS Magoha to help me get justice. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, also kindly intervene. The school’s principal was reluctant to explain what really transpired,” she claimed.
“I was not in the right state of mind to listen to what they were telling them. I was overcome with emotions.
"I asked them where my daughter was only to be informed that her body was moved to the mortuary,” she lamented.
She also accused the school administration of distributing the information without her permission.
In a suicide note located in a dorm room, the 16-year-old asserted that she was not responsible for the crimes.
The note further stated that she was taking her own life to spare her mother from further agony and suffering.
