Moi High School-Mbiruri Shines in 2024 KCSE Results.
Moi High School-Mbiruri, located in Runyenjes Constituency, Embu County, has once again demonstrated its academic prowess by achieving 23 straight A grades in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results released on Thursday.
This marks a significant improvement from the previous year, where the school recorded only eight A grades.
According to Principal Patrick Maina, the school also saw an increase in A- (minus) grades, rising to 44 from 20 in 2023. While addressing students during a celebratory event, he revealed that the school’s mean score improved from 8.0 in 2023 to 8.4 in 2024.
Out of the 380 candidates who sat for the exams, 320 met the university entry requirement of at least a C+ grade.
The principal expressed optimism for even better results in the future, emphasizing the importance of focus, teamwork, and dedication from both students and teachers.
Celebrations at Kangaru School
In Manyatta Constituency, Kangaru School celebrated after producing two straight A grades.
Deputy Principal Basilio Mugo highlighted that this was a remarkable achievement, as the school had not recorded any A plain grades the previous year.
Former student Caleb Ng’ang’a, who scored an impressive 82 points, emerged as the second-best student in the school.
Caleb, who comes from a modest background, attributed his success to a scholarship from the KTDA Foundation.
He aspires to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Surgery at the University of Nairobi and appealed for support from well-wishers to realize this dream.
Notable Achievements in Mbeere North and South
St. Bakhita Siakago Girls in Mbeere North Constituency recorded five A grades, while Nyangwa Boys High School in Mbeere South Constituency registered three A grades. These accomplishments underscore the dedication and hard work of students and teachers across Embu County.
