Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has warned teachers of planning to steal in the ongoing national exams.
He warned officials in charge of administering the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations not to start them before the official start time.
“The intelligence don’t have to tell me, I am a professor and I can see with my own eyes, and I can give you names and numbers so we are just watching them.” He said.
While he claimed that the tests had not been leaked, he warned that a few officials might try to access the contents of the papers completed in the late morning and afternoon ahead of schedule.
“The first paper is reasonably safe because there is no time but there is a group of teachers whom we are watching, who really want to confuse our children.”
The CS noted that it was very shameful for bonafide teachers to wait for the exam just to post and share, warning that the government is on watch.

“I want to urge my officers in the fields who are monitoring examinations throughout the nation to focus on the integrity of the second paper as they walk to any school to check, they should proceed to go and inspect the integrity of the second paper.”
“All is well nevertheless we have seen that the exams have not been tampered with. This exercise brings us to the end year of 2021 and so at the end of this examination we will go to start the academic year of 2022.”
