Machogu Honors Magoha as Purposeful, Selfless Man

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has praised his predecessor, George Magoha, as a man who lived his life with a purpose and selflessness.

Machogu described Magoha as a remarkable physician and scholar who served Kenya with distinction, leaving a lasting impact in the education sector and other areas of the country.

He thanked Maseno University for giving Magoha the opportunity to serve as a lecturer, where he was able to impart his knowledge and continue his research. The government, Machogu stated, will do everything in its power to honor the late George Magoha.

Leaders from the region have requested the government to upgrade Akang’o campus of Maseno University to celebrate Magoha’s achievements. Magoha served as Education Cabinet Secretary under the administration of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Magoha’s elder brother, Obare Magoha, has urged his siblings to purchase a book written by the late CS, instead of spending on whiskey. He noted that many people are unaware of the book, which contains a wealth of knowledge.

Obare expressed disappointment that his siblings did not purchase the book, as they had expected to receive complimentary copies. He emphasized that buying the book would be a better use of their resources, instead of buying whiskey.

Speaking during Magoha’s funeral mass at Maseno University, Obare remembered living with his brother during his primary school years until the completion of his high school education. He also shared that he helped bring Magoha’s wife into the family.

Obare emphasized that the ceremony was a celebration of his life, not one of mourning. He acknowledged that no amount of mourning will bring him back, but his legacy will live on.
