Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has recently made a statement regarding the six teachers from Itumbe DOK Primary School who have been accused of carrying out inappropriate punishment on their pupils.

Machogu has confirmed that the teachers will face disciplinary action and if found guilty, will be dismissed.

The incident was recorded and has since gone viral, showing the teachers compelling the students to perform indecent acts while lying on top of each other, and even threatening to beat the students if they failed to comply.

Nyamache Sub-County Director Linet Onduso confirmed that the six teachers have been arrested and are currently under investigation.

Nyamache Sub-county police chief Kipkemoi Kipkulei also confirmed that the teachers’ phones have been confiscated as they are investigating the reason behind the recording and posting of the video online.

According to Kipkulei, one of the teachers claimed that the pupils were reported for conducting such acts during break time, and they wanted to demonstrate the behavior to understand what was going on.

The news of this incident has sparked outrage among Kenyans, with the majority calling for the Ministry of Education to take strict action against the teachers.

Kipkulei stated that they would await instructions from the Ministry before concluding their investigations.

He noted that the Ministry officials would guide them in their investigation and that they were also aware that they could not afford to disrupt the learning process at the school.

In conclusion, the incident involving the six teachers from Itumbe DOK Primary School is a serious matter, and the Ministry of Education has made it clear that the teachers will face disciplinary action if found guilty.

The investigations are ongoing, and the Ministry will guide the police in their efforts to get to the bottom of the matter.

The safety and well-being of students is a top priority, and any actions that compromise this must be dealt with in a swift and appropriate manner.
