Last Words of Headteacher Found Dead in Nyamira

Ezekiel Gitangwa’s family recounted his last statements before he was allegedly killed in a nurse’s home in Egesieri, Nyamira.

His brother, James Maganda, claimed on Tuesday, January 3, that the dead pleaded with his assailants before they killed him.

Maganda, who went to the homicide scene, was told by witnesses that Gitangwa was duped into his death trap by his acquaintances.

“They told us that someone was beaten in this house and they heard him ask ‘Why did you call me to come and kill me? I was heading to the church,” the brother told Nation Africa.

Maganda added that he became aware of the shool-strange head’s behavior when he failed to appear for master of ceremonies duties at a wedding the next day.

The deceased prayed for forgiveness, according to Nyamira Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) Paul Makonge.

Gitangwa’s silence was a loud distress call for a man who was always in regular communication with friends and family.

“I spoke to him in the morning but when I got to the church at 11 am, I did not see him. We asked his wife where he was and when the wedding was over, I went to the police,” the distraught brother stated.

They broke into Agneta Agwata’s residence with the assistance of officers in search of him but in vain. His body, however, was discovered in a chicken coop with all of his limbs removed.

The deceased’s sister defended him against allegations of a relationship with the nurse and appealed for the suspect’s arrest as soon as possible so that the truth could be revealed.

Agwata and her lover, Zablon Keng’ara, were named as the primary suspects in the case by Makonge.

He further denied that the suspects had been detained in Nakuru, as previously reported.
