KUPPET Push for Teachers’ CBA to be Implemented in Two Terms.
The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has asked the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Government to implement the 2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in two terms.
Speaking during the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebrations, KUPPET National Chairman Jeremiah Omboko Milemba said the teachers expect all the agreed benefits and adjustments to be delivered without delay.
“We want the CBA to be done in two terms,” Milemba said and urged all stakeholders in the education sector to work together to fulfill the agreement.
He noted that KUPPET had made progress during the recent engagement with the Government at State House and emphasized the need for unity and teamwork among teachers’ unions, the Ministry of Education and TSC to achieve the CBA’s objectives.
Milemba also touched on broader issues affecting teachers including the plight of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers who are still earning below the minimum wage and the challenges with teachers’ medical cover. He said he was confident these issues will be addressed through dialogue and structured engagement with the relevant authorities.

The 2025 CBA signed earlier this year has provisions for salary reviews, improved allowances and promotion guidelines to enhance teacher motivation, equity and professionalism.
Milemba reiterated KUPPET’s commitment to ensure the implementation process is fair, transparent and timely.
