KUPPET Moves to Resolve Challenges in Teachers’ Medical Cover.
The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) will engage the relevant authorities to address the challenges faced by teachers under the current medical cover.
Speaking during the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebrations, KUPPET National Chairman Jeremiah Omboko Milemba acknowledged the growing concerns raised by teachers over inefficiencies and delays in accessing medical services.
Milemba said the union will sit down with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Ministry of Education to review the current contract with the medical service provider to improve service delivery and ensure teachers get quality healthcare.
“Today we have the challenge of medical cover. We shall sit down and discuss, and we shall get a solution,” Milemba said.
KUPPET said access to reliable and comprehensive medical care is key to teachers’ welfare and urged all stakeholders to prioritise the matter in the ongoing policy consultations.
