KUCCPS Revises Eligibility Criteria for Degree Course Applicants
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that only 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates will be eligible to apply for degree courses once the application portal is open.
However, candidates who sat for KCSE before 2022 will only be eligible for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.
KUCCPS explained that candidates were required to apply for the courses during the application period intended for their KCSE cohort.
In response to questions from candidates, the placement body stated that the portal would be open to all Kenyans once it is open for applications.
KUCCPS also indicated that it was yet to open the portal for the application process, and that the official opening dates for applying for degree and diploma courses would be published on the website in the coming days.
KCSE 2022 candidates are yet to apply for their degree and diploma courses of choice weeks after Education CS Ezekiel Machogu released their results.
The KCSE results were announced on January 20, with Machogu directing KUCCPS to begin preparations for the placement exercise. KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome stated that the process takes quite some time, given the data submitted by universities.
KUCCPS will communicate the application/revision window through mainstream media, KUCCPS website, and official social media handles in due course. Candidates are advised to be on the lookout for this communication.
In summary, the KUCCPS has announced that only 2022 KCSE candidates will be eligible to apply for degree courses once the application portal is open. Candidates who sat for KCSE before 2022 will only be eligible for TVET courses.
KUCCPS is yet to open the portal for the application process, and the official opening dates for applying for degree and diploma courses will be published on the website in the coming days. Candidates are advised to be on the lookout for this communication.
