KUCCPS: How to Check if Application Payment Has Reflected on eCitizen
On Monday, February 26, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) addressed concerns raised by applicants encountering issues with payment reflection on the eCitizen platform.
According to the government directive, payments for course applications are to be made through the eCitizen platform using the 222222 pay bill.

Despite some applicants submitting payments along with the transaction code, an ‘error’ was displayed by the system.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that there was a delay in the reflection of payments on the eCitizen platform. In response, the placement service introduced a procedure to verify if the payments had been billed.
For those wondering how to make payments to KUCCPS, follow these steps:
- Click on the payment link visible on the KUCCPS portal.
- Opt for the mobile money option (M-Pesa), proceed to pay the bill using 222222 as the pay bill number, and enter the account number issued by KUCCPS.
- Make a payment of Ksh1500 and enter your mobile money PIN to complete the transaction.
- Upon successful completion, you will receive a mobile money confirmation message on your phone.

To confirm if your payment has been reflected on eCitizen using mobile phone, follow these steps:
- Dial *222# on your mobile phone.
- Select Option 6 for ‘Check Payment.’
- Enter the Payment Reference (Account) used and send.
- Enter the transaction code and click ‘send.’
- If the payment details are accurate, you will receive confirmation that the invoice has been paid.
Once the payment reflects on the eCitizen platform, you can proceed with your application.
