Konza University To Officially Open In June.According to University Education Principal Secretary Simon Nabukwesi, the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology will admit its first students in June of this year.Konza Technopolis, a prominent flagship project of Kenya’s Vision 2030 economic development program, will house KAIST.Konza will be a world-class metropolis with a booming information, communications, and technology industry.The institute was inspired by the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, which supports technical education for economic prosperity.Nabukwesi drew similarities and analogies from South Korea when speaking at this year’s Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Conference at Sheikh Zayed Hall in Mombasa.The campus will have ten research scientific labs that will collaborate with specialized local and international scientists, technologists, and engineers.KAIST is expected to enhance science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an effort to create human capacity for the economy’s industrialization by 2030.During the annual linked summit in Diani, Kwale county, Cabinet Secretary for ICT Joe Mucheru revealed the Kenya National Digital Master plan for 2022-32.The master plan calls for the development of Konza Technopolis to be accelerated in order to boost cloud services and data management.At the same time, Nabukwesi urged principals to encourage kids to choose occupations that they are passionate about.He also encouraged Kenyans to study French, claiming that knowing the language opens numerous doors to foreign opportunities.ALSO READ:“Rwanda beats us in taking up international jobs because they are good in English and French.
