KNUT Warns Sex Predators Among Teachers, Says Should Be Prosecuted
The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has issued a warning to teachers who sexually abuse students in their schools.
KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu stated during the AGM of the Kirinyaga KNUT branch on Saturday that the union will not defend any teacher implicated in the illegal act.
Oyuu affirmed that the union wholeheartedly endorses the dismissal of sex predators nationwide, asserting that authorities should not allow these individuals to persist in teaching children but should instead incarcerate them.

He stated that the union will call for industrial action if the council fails to pay all examiners their allowances on time.
Oyuu stated that in the past, the council had failed to honor their commitments, causing the union to delay teacher payments for several months.
He urged KNEC to make prior provisions so that examiners do not have to wait for their compensation following the examinations.
