KNEC to Send 1,700 officers to Monitor KCPE, KPSEA, KCSE and KILEA examinations
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has rolled out stringent measures to ensure the integrity of this year’s national examinations.
With the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams set to begin on October 30 and October 23, respectively, KNEC is taking no chances when it comes to preserving the credibility of these important tests.

KNEC, in collaboration with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), organized a two-day sensitization forum held at the KNEC Headquarters, where they prepared over 1,700 officers. Key education stakeholders attended the event and Basic Education PS, Dr. Belio Kipsang, was present.
The EACC was a crucial partner in this forum, with Dr. Emily Mworia, EACC Kenya Deputy Director for Education and Public Awareness, addressing the KNEC staff and officers. The key focus of the forum was on ethics and integrity in examination administration.
During the sessions, the EACC aimed to address any systemic weaknesses and loopholes that could lead to integrity issues in national examinations. This proactive approach is essential in ensuring that both KCPE and KCSE exams are conducted with the utmost transparency.

KNEC Chairman, Prof. Julius Nyabundi, and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. David Njengere, led the briefing alongside senior officials of the council. The event marked the commencement of the 2023 exam period.
These measures emphasize KNEC’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of national examinations and preventing cheating, ensuring that every candidate has a fair and equal opportunity to succeed.
