KNEC Registration Guidelines for January 2024 IAL Exams for Private Candidates
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued an essential announcement regarding the registration process for the January 2024 Pearson-Edexcel International Examinations in Nairobi.
This news update highlights essential information for private candidates intending to sit for these examinations.

Registration Period:
Registration for the Pearson-Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) exams will be open from September 4th to October 13th, 2023.
To avoid incurring late fees from both KNEC and Pearson Edexcel International, it is essential to submit your registration request before the deadline.
Late submissions will result in additional charges.
Requirements for Kenyan Citizens
Kenyan citizens must seek authorization from the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya National Examinations Council to take the examination.
They are also required to present an original and a photocopy of their National ID or Passport. Please note that Birth Certificates will not be accepted as ID documents.

Requirements for Foreign Nationals:
Foreign nationals must submit both originals and certified photocopies of their Passports or Alien IDs.
Additionally, they should possess passports with an entry visa from the Department of Immigration Services, valid for the entire examination duration.
All candidates, irrespective of nationality, must provide two passport-sized photos.
Registration Venue:
Registration for the January 2024 Pearson-Edexcel International Examinations must be done at the New Mitihani House, Foreign Examinations Office, 1st floor, South C, off Red Cross Road.

Payment Procedures:
Candidates are required to make two separate fee deposits at the specified banks.
One deposit should be in Pounds for the Pearson-Edexcel International Examinations fees, while the other should be in Kenyan Shillings for the KNEC registration and administration fees.
Deposit slips must be submitted to the KNEC office, foreign examinations section.
Bank Details:
Pearson-Edexcel International Examination fees should be paid in Sterling Pounds (GBP) to the Cooperative Bank of Kenya, Co-operative House Branch, Account Name: Kenya National Examinations Council Current Account – Customers, Account No. 03120030120300.

KNEC registration and administration fees (Kshs 21,500.00) should be deposited in Kenya Commercial Bank – Account No. 1116686880 or Co-operative Bank – Account No. 01136030120300, under “Other Exams.”
These fees include supervision, invigilation, venue, and courier expenses.

It is important to note that all fees are subject to review by either KNEC or Pearson Edexcel International, as applicable.
