KNEC instructs Kenyans to complete outstanding KCSE matters within four years
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) leadership has requested that anyone who has a complaint about the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations register it within the next four years.
During the release of the 2023 exam results on Monday, KNEC Chairman Prof. Julius Nyabundi declared that the council has provided an opportunity for all Kenyans to resolve outstanding issues.
Those who have concerns about the 2023 KCSE results, on the other hand, have been urged to file them within 30 days, as required by the KNEC Act.

“Anybody who has pending examination matters should take the opportunity that the Council has extended to them within the next four years. Similarly, as we are releasing examination results today, there is provision in the KNEC Act that if anybody has any issues with the results, you have 30 days to engage KNEC to get any corrections or or any clarifications necessary,” Nyabundi announced.
The outstanding objections will be addressed during the next four years, following which the KCSE tests will be phased out when the country completely adopts the CBC curriculum.
At the same time, KNEC CEO Dr. David Njengere announced that registration for KPSEA and KCSE 2024 will begin on January 29, 2024 and will last two months, ending on March 29, 2024.

While acknowledging that KNEC typically has issues around this time, Njengere urged all school principals to ensure that all eligible candidates are registered on time.
“Please note there will be no late registration this year. We are not going to extend the registration period even by a day,” Njengere warned.
He also advised parents to ensure that their children’s schools register them for national exams.
The 2023 KCSE exams were taken by 903,260 students.
