KNEC Announces Training for KCSE Examiners

Invitation for Applications: Training of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examiners

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is set to conduct training for prospective KCSE examiners from August 18 to August 24, 2014. This training will prepare qualified teachers to become examiners for the upcoming KCSE examinations.

Training Details:

  • Training Dates: August 18 – August 24, 2014
  • Training Fee: Ksh 18,500 (non-refundable), payable only by shortlisted applicants.
  • Training Venue: To be communicated to selected candidates. Note that the training will be strictly residential.

Subject Areas for Examiners: Applications are invited from secondary school teachers to train as examiners in the following subjects:

Criteria for Training as an Examiner:

  1. Must be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject areas at the level of examination.
  2. Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
  3. Must have a Diploma in Education or higher.
  4. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
  5. Must NOT be on interdiction or facing any disciplinary action by TSC.
  6. Must be recommended by the head of their institution.
  7. Must be 50 years of age or younger.

Application Procedure:

  1. Access the Portal: Go to KNEC Examiners’ Portal.
  2. Login:
    • Existing CP2 Accounts: Use your username and password to log in.
    • Forgotten Password: Click “reset password,” enter your mobile number in the format (2547), and submit to receive new login credentials.
    • New Users: Click “create account” and follow the instructions to set up your login credentials.
  3. Complete Application: After logging in, complete your personal profile and click on “apply for training” to view and select the available vacancies.

Important Note:

  • The number of training slots is limited. Only qualified teachers who submit all required documents will be considered for shortlisting.
